Mask Requirements

All SCUSD staff, students in all grades, parents/guardians, community partners and visitors – including fully vaccinated individuals - are required to wear a face mask at all times in all settings. Free masks will be provided to those without one.


Morning Drop Off: you may drive thru drop in the horseshoe driveway, or park and walk your child up as early as 8:45 if they are not eating breakfast on campus, or as early as 8:30 if they are eating breakfast in the cafeteria. Please do not park in the horseshoe driveway out front, that is only for drive-through drop-offs.

  • eK and Kindergarten: you may park and walk your child up to the kinder gate, or drop off via drive through in the horseshoe driveway in front of the kinder gate if the gate is open. You may only leave your child if the gate is open and a kinder teacher is present. If your child is getting breakfast, you may walk up to the outside of the cafeteria as early at 8:30am and a breakfast will be provided to you in a bag.

  • 1st - 6th Grade: all 1st-6th grade students will go through the front of the school between the office and Cafeteria to get on campus. You may park on the street and walk your child as far as the Cafeteria, and from there your child will be guided by staff to their classroom. Classroom teachers will be waiting outside their classrooms to greet their students.

  • 7th-8th Grade: drop off is by the gate on Vanguard. Parents may not go on campus past the gate.

After School Pickup (3:12pm except Thursdays at 2:12pm )

  • eK and Kindergarten: pick up is at the kindergarten gate. You may park on the street and walk up, or you my pull up at the horseshoe driveway and the teacher will send your child out.

  • 1st - 2nd Grade: pickup is at the first gate past the kinder gate, near the first row of classrooms

  • 3rd -5th Grade: pickup is at the gate by the chicken coop on explorer.

  • 6th-8th Grade: pick up is by the gate on Vanguard.


Screen for Symptoms and Stay Home When Sick

Staff and students must self-screen for symptoms at home daily. If a person is sick or exhibits any symptoms of COVID-19, they may not come to school and will follow Illness and Symptoms Guidelines for Staff and Students (Appendix B).

Symptoms of illness include fever (100.4 or higher) or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea per CDC guidelines.

Stay home until the following CDPH criteria to return to school are met:

10 days have passed and at least 24 hours fever free and other symptoms improved

OR

Present a negative COVID-19 PCR test and at least 24 hours fever free

OR

Present a note from a healthcare provider that confirms that current symptoms are from a chronic condition or other disease process.
